Start.ca is currently looking for a contract VoIP Engineer to join our growing team! As a VoIP Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation and deployment of Start’s Business and Residential phone solution. You will also be acting as the primary contact for Start’s Business Support Team, ensuring very high levels of customer satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing:
Build a new Business and Residential phone solution.
Provision new business phone customer solutions based on their specific needs. Thoroughly document each solution deployed.
Work in conjunction with our NOC team to troubleshoot and support services post implementation.
Participate in the pre-sales process and ensure that the requirements can be met.
Mediate between the Corporate Solutions team and Network team concerning new requests.
Contribute to the development and documentation of departmental process and procedures.
Perform diagnostics and continually debug the entire customer implementation cycle.
Assist with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Other appropriate responsibilities relevant to the role today and the role as it may evolve.
The successful candidate has:
A Degree/Diploma in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a related field.
5 to 10 years of experience with Metaswitch.
Very strong understanding of SIP/Gateways/HPBX and SBCs.
Strong understanding of deploying a phone solution end to end.
Knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 routing and switching.
Basic understanding of server deployments on Linux and Windows.
The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently of varying degrees of complexity and time urgency.
Strong relationship building skills and a customer experience mindset.
The ability to quickly analyze issues and determine best course of action using available resources.
Strong analytical skills coupled with a problem solver attitude.
Excellent written, oral, and telephone communication skills.
The ability to communicate in user-friendly language.
The availability and willingness to participate in an on call rotation.
A valid G driver’s license.
