Lennox and Addington

To visit Yarker Falls, follow Hwy 401 east to Lennox and Addington Rd 6 at Odessa. Go north on this road for about 10 minutes to Yarker, cross over the river, and try to find a place to park. The view of the falls from the bridge is mediocre. I have been informed that there is now a viewing location behind the church along the right bank of the river. Please avoid trespassing on private property along the right bank of the river.

 Description

Why haven't you heard of this waterfall before? I don't know. Maybe it's because it's stuck in a small village, far from Toronto or Ottawa? Or perhaps there is really no well-developed viewing platform? Yarker Falls isn't the most spectacular waterfall in Central Ontario, but it is most certainly worth a detour if you are passing through the area.

The waterfall is situated right in the heart of the village of Yarker. Of note, the Waterfall Tea Room is situated right above the waterfall. The Napanee River falls here in two stages. The upper falls (shown in picture) are a steep cascade, about 2.5m in height, and broken at high flow into three sections by two tiny islands of higher ground. After a short but swift bedrock section, the river falls over a true plunge waterfall, about 3m in height.
