From North Bay, go south on Hwy 11 to Secondary Hwy 654. Turn right (west) and drive for 0.5 km to Wasi Falls Rd. Follow this road for a few hundred meters until the road bends to the right and there is narrow little trail leading off into the Spruce/Fir woods on the left. The trail reaches the river's edge within less than 1 minute. Please be sure not to walk on private property.

 Description

After a visit to the more spectacular Wasi Falls located just 500 m north, be sure to make a quick stop at this pretty little cascade. The cascade is actually composed of several small falls, including a 2 m high slide shown in the photo above. The water "slides" across inclined layers of bedrock. Another set of smaller rapids can be found upstream, just downstream of the road crossing. Even though Wasi Falls is only about 500 downstream, please don't try to walk down the stream bed, as you would enter private property associated with homes along the river.

As indicated for Wasi Falls, this site was settled in 1880s when the settlement was originally known as Wisa Wasa. The Cronkite Woolen Mill was located nearby, and was likely either at these cascades or at Wasi Falls. An article by Doug McKay in a local web site (dated 2000) indicates that the mill was located near Hwy 654, which leads me to believe that the mill may (?) have used the power available at this cascade.
