The Golden
Horseshoe is a term historically used to describe the most heavily
developed portion of the province, including Toronto, Hamilton, St.
Catharines and Kitchener-Waterloo. This is where the bulk of the
province's population can be found. Fortunately, residents of this
region have a large number of pretty waterfalls in their own
backyard. While most falls are associated with the Niagara
Escarpment, there are also a few others scattered through the area. The region covers the following counties:
Dufferin, Halton, Hamilton, Niagara, Peel, Waterloo and Wellington.
