From Lindsay, go north on Hwy 35 to Dorset, then go east on Haliburton Rd 8. Turn right when Haliburton Rd 8 turns right. Follow the road for about 2.5 km until you see the river through a break in the trees on the left side of the road. Watch for a short driveway on the left side of the highway, leading to a few big boulders (ie. this is not to a house). Park here, walk down the hill towards the falls. If you want to explore the bedrock ridge, turn right before reaching the falls and climb up the steep bedrock hill.

 Description

This is an interesting site to visit. The waterfall itself is not spectacular, consisting of several little cascades and a nice slide-class waterfall at the bottom. The slide is over a 30 degree mass of sloping, smooth bedrock. At low flow, the river passes over the slide as a thin sheet of water no more than a few centimetres in depth.

From the road, much of the waterfall (already hidden by the forest) is further hidden behind a high bedrock ridge. But the ridge is an interesting place to explore. If you are carful to stay back from the edge, you will be safe. The ridge slopes gently up to the ridge, and then drops at a 90 degree angle to the river below. The ridge is probably 12-15 m high, and parallels the river for 100-150 m upstream from the falls.

This waterfall is included in the print version of "Waterfalls of Ontario."
