Muskoka

Follow Hwy 11 north to Hwy 141 west. Follow Hwy 141 west to Muskoka Rd 24 and turn left. Follow the road for about 5 km and then turn left on to North Shore Rd. Drive for about 300 m and park on the side of the road. Listen for the falls and make your way down the hill, through the woods to the falls. I found what appeared to be a bedrock "walkway" that lead most of the way to the creek.

 Description

The Dee River drains Three Mile Lake, to Clark Pond and then to Lake Rosseau. This isn't a great falls, but it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The photograph shows the largest of several small cascade waterfalls. The river braids around several bedrock islands, some with small waterfalls on either side. You can walk out on to the bedrock, and potentially on to the islands during low flow. Note that there is a small cabin in the woods on the opposite shore of the river. You may be an unwelcome trespasser on that side of the river.

Note: I saw no signs to indicate that this is private property, but if it is, please respect private property. You can also see the waterfall from Muskoka # 24 at the bridge over the river. However it is about 300-400 m away, and the private property of the cottage on the side of the road will prevent you from walking along the bank of the river.

This waterfall is featured in the print version of "Waterfalls of Ontario.
