Exit Hwy 403 at Aberdeen Ave in Hamilton. Go east on Aberdeen Ave to Queen St and turn right. Follow this road up the big hill, during which the road becomes Beckett Dr and then Garth St. At the top of the hill, turn right on Scenic Dr and drive about one kilometre to Upper Paradise Dr. Park here and walk into little Cliffview Park on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment. Walk to the fence, and look for the waterfall, just downstream from the road. |

| Description | |||||||
|
The branch of Chedoke Creek that feeds this waterfall has been largely buried under the urban development of south Hamilton. Here the creek emerges from a culvert and falls steeply into a gorge bordering Cliffview Park. The waterfall is a narrow, steep cascade. Some sources list this waterfall at a 16 m total drop. While you can easily stroll across the grass in the park, the view of the falls is actually lacklustre from here, as the vegetation blocks most of your view. For the adventurous, the best view would be from the base of the falls. You could descend the stairs, walk past the Golf Club Falls, and try to scramble up the gorge. This will likely be a short, but demanding hike, which I plan to try the next time I'm in the area. |
