 Description

Unfortunately, there really is no natural waterfall at Burk's Falls. This may not always have been the case, but today, the falls consists of a rather uninspiring boulder rapids and a small dam. This is not to say that the site isn't a nice little pit stop. The town's Heritage Walk starts here, and a nice wooden footbridge over the rapids provides a decent spot to get out and get a stretch. But if you're looking for waterfalls, Burk's Falls isn't one of them.

The Burk's Falls Welcome Centre is located right beside the "Falls" and is probably worth a stop anyways for information if you're traveling through the area.

Water power from the 7 m drop was used as a source of power for early industries in the town, and even powered a 245 kW generating station until about 1960.
