Exit Hwy 401 at Cannifton Rd (becomes Hwy 37 to the north) and drive south in to the city for about 1 km. Watch for an unsigned, unofficial, gravel parking area on the right side of the road. The parking area is just a few tens of meters from the river, surrounded by a wild, grassy natural area. I'm 95% sure that this is north of College Street. There are no trails, but it should be easy to make your way along the river around the rapids. As always, be careful - the rocks are slippery and this river can really fly during spring run off. |

| Description | |||||||
|
This little cascade isn't worth a large detour, but if you're in the area, it can provide a refreshing break. Hidden just out of view from Cannifton Road, this low cascade spreads across the 15 to 20 m wide Moira River, dropping no more than about 2 m. Much of the drop is no more than a bedrock rapids, although there is one rock notch towards the left bank (looking downstream) of the river that exhibits a true fall of a meter or two. |
