The corner of Talbot & King Streets, taken on a cloudy, miserable
day during November, 1997. This is from the roof of the soon to be demoloshed Market Parking building, looking southwest.
Crown Graphic, 135mm Xenar @ F16, 1/30th second. Tmax 400.
Taken the second week of November, 1997, on the corner of Richmond St. & Queens Ave, looking north-east. Crown Graphic, Tmax-400, yellow filter at F16. Click on the image for a larger view, 90K jpeg. This majestic building is even more beautlful on the inside, and a wonderful part of downtown London. In the far, mid-upper left of the photo you can see the spires fo St. Peter's Catholic Basilica, one block north on Richmond St.
St. Andrew's 1st United ChurchNortheast corner of Queens and Waterloo St. Delta 400, both developed in Hutchings PMK Pyro and printed on Ilford Galerie #3 grade paper. Orbit 4x5, 90mm WA Komura lens, stopped down to F32, yellow filter. Both of these picutres were taken on the same day, in fact only 40 minutes apart, but what a difference in the look when the clouds rolled in. This beautiful old church is one of thousands of structures in London built in the later 1800's out of yellow brick, a common building material in this area at one time. Mnay of th eold homes in the area are also yellow brick.

Dundas Centre United Church.Corner of Dundas & Maitland Sts. Both pictures taken December, 1997. Crown Graphic, TM400 film, yellow filter for the first picture, Delta 400, Yellow filter, 90mm WA Komura on my Orbit monorail. For the first picture, I was walking downtown and just saw how the light was striking the church. I had no tripod, so I used the top of a nearby brick wall. Dropping the bed, raising the front standard and angling the whole camera witht he use of a leather glove tucked strategically underneath, I took this shot. The church itself dates back to the very first church on this site built in 1869, and is currently a local hertigtage site. "Shambleau Hall", built onto the side of the church some 25-30 years ago is typical of a period were so many historic buildings had additions or renovations lacking anything in common with the original structure. The second image came when I returned a couple of weeks later, again taking advantage of the light.

1997 - this is a large 240K file. This picture won 1st prize in the 1997 Illustraiting Downton London contest. It took me three
trips to this location on the bank of the Thames river to get exactly what I wanted.

South Thames River - Taken June, 1997. Delta 400, 4x5" film, Kodak WF Ektar, 135mm . Although it does not show up
well on this small scan, look for the Heron flying in the lower right side of the picture.
Downtown London, Ontario. Taken May of 1997, Tri-X, 4x5 , Kodak WF 135mm. I like this picture
because fo the clouds reflected in the glass.
Maitland St. Mormon Church Taken Summer of 1996. This older church is slated for destruction to make way for a new High school.
