Dialup Internet Setup for Windows 2000

Step 1.

Select the Start button, then Programs, then Accessories, then Communications then the Network and Dial-up Connections option.

Step 2.

Double-click the Make New Connection icon from the window that is presented.

Step 3.

Then select the Next button.

Step 4.

Select Dial-up to the Internet and click the Next button.

Step 5.

Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually... and then click the Next button.

Step 6.

Select I connect through a phone line and a modem, then click Next.

Step 7.

Uncheck the "Use area code and dialing rules", enter the dialup telephone number and then click Next.

Step 8.

Enter your login username and password, then click on the Next button.

Step 9.

Enter "Start Communications" as the connection name and click Next.

Optional:

You can choose to setup a mail account now, if not you can select No and finish the process.

Step 10.

To setup your mail account now, select the Yes option and click on the Next button.

Step 11.

You may be prompted with the following screen depending on your previous configuration. To continue creating a new mail account please select Create a new Internet mail account and click Next.

Step 12.

Enter your name the way you wish people to see it and click Next.

Step 13.

Enter your email address and click Next.

Step 14.

Enter "mail.start.ca" as your mail server names and click Next.

Step 15.

Enter your mailbox account name and password, then click Next.

Step 16.

Click on Finish to complete the installation process.
