Dialup Internet Setup for Mac OS9
Step 1.
Locate the "Assistants" folder on your hard drive, then open it and double-click on the Internet Setup Assistant icon.
Step 2.
Click the Yes button.
Step 3.
Click the Yes button.
Step 4.
Click the right arrow button.
Step 5.
Type "Start Communications" for the configuration name and then click the right arrow.
Step 6.
Click the right arrow button.
Step 7.
Complete the phone number, user id and password fields using the information from your "Setup Information Sheet" that you received at the time of your account setup.
- The phone number is your "Dialup phone number"
- The user ID is your "Login username"
- The password is your "Login password"
When you are done, click the right arrow button.
Step 8.
Select No and click the right arrow button.
Step 9.
Select No and click the right arrow button.
Step 10.
To complete your DNS information, on the first line of the large box type 64.140.120.21 and return then type 64.140.120.22 on the second line of the first box. In the smaller lower box enter start.ca then click on the right arrow button.
Step 11.
Complete the email address and password using the information on your "Setup Information Sheet"
- The email address is your "E-Mail address"
- The email password is your "E-Mail password"
When you are done, click the right arrow button.
Step 12.
Enter your email account name using the information from the "E-Mail mailbox (POP3 account)" on your "Setup Information Sheet". Then enter mail.start.ca for the host name. Once completed click the right arrow button.
Step 13.
Type news.start.ca for the news group host name, then click the right arrow button.
Step 14.
Select the No button, then click the right arrow button.
Step 15.
Click the Go Ahead button and your iMac will be ready for the Internet!
